Uniform
All children are expected to wear academy uniform at all times. Uniform can be purchased online from: SPT Uniforms | Affordable Quality School Uniforms. It is Montagu Academy’s policy that all children wear a school uniform when attending school, and when participating in school organised events outside normal school hours. School uniform is part of our school ethos and, in sending their child/ren to Montagu Academy, parents agree to support our policy. Our policy for children’s school uniform is based on the belief that: A school uniform promotes a sense of pride in the school. Engenders a feeling of community and belonging. Is practical and smart. Identifies the children with the academy. prevents children from coming to school in fashion clothes that would be a distraction in class. Makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance. Is regarded as suitable wear for school. Is good value for money. The uniform has been designed with health and safety in mind. We hope you appreciate the benefits of having a school uniform. We thank parents for recognising the importance of dressing smartly in contributing to the high standards of the academy. Aims Through this policy we aim to: Ensure that within our school we wish to promote an atmosphere which encourages effort, enjoyment, and a celebration of the achievements of all our pupils. The schools concern for these high standards is also reflected in the pride we take in our school uniform and feeling of belonging it creates. The governing body at Montagu Academy will respect variations to our school uniform if they are directly related the established religious or cultural traditions. However, any variation will be dealt with on an individual basis and judgements will remain at the discretion of the Head Teacher and the governing body. Uniform In order to maintain a strong sense of identity and belonging within our school, we require all pupils to wear school uniform which consists of: Royal blue sweatshirt (with our without the school logo) Royal blue cardigan (with or without the school logo) White polo shirt (with or without the school logo) Charcoal grey trousers (no jeans or joggers) Charcoal grey skirt or pinafore dress. Grey tights, White knee-length, or ankle socks Black, flat, sensible, safe shoes (no brightly coloured trainers) Delta tie (year 6 only) Summer options: Plain charcoal grey shorts or skirt Shoes with socks (no open toe shoes/sandals) Royal blue and white gingham summer dress |


PE All children require a PE kit. This should consist of: White T-shirt or polo shirt (with or without logo) Plain black or grey sports shorts Plain black leggings – not branded. Plain black jogging bottoms – not branded. Black trainers suitable for outdoor sports Black plimsolls for indoor PE – this is for health & safety reasons. For outdoor PE, children may wear black jogging bottoms and a long sleeved t-shirt or their school sweatshirt/cardigan. Children must bring trainers to participate in outdoor PE – these are not provided by the academy and if children do not bring the correct footwear it may not be possible for them to participate. |
